Curt the Sheep

Curt the Sheep was first created in 2008 as a mascot for our family wool business, to promote the benefits of natural wool within the UK wool carpet industry.

Curt took on many forms in various campaigns over the years; from being made into floor rugs as 'Curt the OIympic Sheep' to sporting pink sunglasses with the Wool Carpet Focus Group. He soon became a symbol of responsible material choice and British design.

In 2019, we began a project to transform Curt into a natural wool soft toy, reflecting rising demand for plastic-free cuddly toys made with renewable materials. Although the project was delayed, it returned in 2024 with a clear purpose: to create a 100% wool soft toy for children and families looking to reduce synthetic fibres in their homes.

Today, Curt is more than a mascot – he is the official Wool Hugger logo and the first in-house character available exclusively at CurttheSheep.com. Designed in Yorkshire and made using over 70% British wool, Curt stands as a limited edition wool soft toy that represents quality and sustainability.

Note: The wool fleece fabric is woven on a fine supporting base for stability — a standard part of wool textile construction. All visible and filled materials are 100% wool.
